our Cabernet Sauvignon block in the left of the photo (4.5 acres)
and of our North Merlot block in the right of the photo (3 acres).
The blocks had been clean cultivated at the time this
photo was taken in preparation for planting.

32 Road vineyard.
These two photographs show Shiraz vines planted in
April 2000 and in September 2000 after a summer of
growth, demonstrating how correct vineyard management
on a good site can achieve spectacular growth with
this variety during the first year.
Harvest 2001. These
photographs are of Shiraz vines from our 32 Road vineyard.
These vines are in their second leaf. We were able to
crop the Shiraz at the site during its second year (Sept
2001) at 5.5 tons per acre. Other varieties also did
well in the second year (Muscat Blanc at 5.5 tons per
acre and Cabernet Franc at 4 tons per acre).
