As wine growers, we are intensely interested in
the environment in which the grapevines grow.
The quality of the grape and as a result, the wine,
can be directly and indirectly affected by the climate.
Perhaps the most important climatic variable is temperature.
Summer is important for the growing of the vine and the fruit,
but winter may even be more important in our location
because of the possible damage to vines by cold injury events.
Therefore we have a wide assortment of temperature monitoring
apparatus, two of which are shown in the table below.
